Why your images have spots
Dust and dirt on the camera CCD causes spots in images. They are easiest to see in plain, evenly lit areas — a clear sky, a white wall, a studio backdrop — and they sit in exactly the same place in every frame, which is what tells you the sensor is the culprit rather than the scene or the lens.
Changing lenses, zooming, and simply working outdoors all give dust a way in. It is normal, and it is straightforward to put right.
How long it takes
A sensor clean requires a 1 hour minimum time on the bench. Most sensor cleans will be completed the same day, so in many cases you can drop your camera off and collect it before we close.
